During this webcast, Prof. Dr. Paul De Leyn and Prof. Dr. Bernward Passlick will present on their clinical results in the effective treatment of air leaks and will discuss case reports utilizing a synthetic lung sealant — the PleuraSeal™ lung sealant system. Participants can submit questions that will be answered during the presentation.
Prof. Dr. Paul De Leyn’s special areas of interest include lung cancer staging and restaging after induction treatment, tracheal surgery, and lung transplantation. He is the author or co-author of several book chapters and over a hundred articles in peer-reviewed publications. He is a reviewer for Lung Cancer, the Journal of Thoracic Oncology, the Annals of Thoracic Surgery, and the European Journal of Cardiothoracic Surgery.
Prof. Dr. Bernward Passlick is board-certified in general surgery, thoracic surgery, and vascular surgery, and he is a Fellow of the European Board of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgeons. Scientific emphases include early metastasis, minimal tumor diseases after operation, adjuvant immune therapy, and further development of minimal invasive surgery of the chest.
This program features the PleuraSeal™ lung sealant sytem. It is intended for audiences outside of the United States where the PleuraSeal™ system has CE mark approval, and is indicated for use as a surgical sealant during elective pulmonary resection as an adjunct to standard closure techniques of visceral pleural air leaks. The PleuraSeal™ lung sealant system is not yet available for sale in the United States.
