Dr. James W. Wheless is one of the nation’s experts on childhood epilepsy and neurology. Dr. Wheless joined Le Bonheur Children’s Medical Center in 2005 as the Medical Director for the Neuroscience Institute.
Dr. Wheless is a Professor and Chief of Pediatric Neurology at the University of Tennessee in Memphis and is Clinical Director and Chief of Pediatric Neurology at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Dr. Wheless is certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and the American Board of Pediatric Psychiatry and Neurology. With more than 20 years of experience, Dr. Wheless has authored more than 100 articles and 20 book chapters. He has special interests in epilepsy, tuberous sclerosis, and MEG. Dr. Wheless currently serves as a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics and Section of Child Neurology, the Epilepsy Foundation of America among others.
