Dr. Burton Surick is a board-certified general and bariatric surgeon.  Dr. Surick received his undergraduate degree at the prestigious Boston University 6 years’ medical program with a minor in philosophy, graduating summa cum laude in 1986. 

He proceeded to do his general surgical residency at Beth Israel Medical Center under the chairmanship of Dr. Charles McSherry and an endoscopic fellowship with Dr. Hiromi Shinya.  Dr. Surick has been practicing general and laparoscopic surgery since 1992.  He is currently the associate program director for the surgical residency program.  His areas of expertise are in minimally invasive surgery for bariatric, reflux disease, hernias, and biliary disease.
