Dr. Lisa A. Orloff, chief of Head and Neck and Endocrine Surgery at UCSF Medical Center, is a specialist in the care of patients with thyroid and parathyroid diseases, including cancer. Orloff also is an expert in diagnostic ultrasonography and laryngology as well as endoscopic, minimally invasive, open and microscopic head and neck surgery. She is board certified in otolaryngology, or head and neck surgery, by the American Board of Otolaryngology.

Orloff, a former Fulbright scholar, earned a bachelor's degree at Stanford University and a medical degree at the University of California, Los Angeles. She completed a residency at the University of Washington and a fellowship in microvascular and reconstructive surgery at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York. Prior to joining UCSF Medical Center, she was co-director of the Multidisciplinary Thyroid/Parathyroid Clinic at the University of California, San Diego. She is a national fellow as well as past-president of the San Diego Chapter of the American College of Surgeons.
