Richard Levitt, M.D., a Board-certified orthopedic surgeon, is an expert in partial knee resurfacing; a complex knee surgery in which the damaged portion of the knee joint is replaced with a small implant. Dr. Levitt has served as chief of orthopedic surgery at South Miami Hospital and was previously chief of sports medicine and arthroscopic surgery at Mt. Sinai Hospital in Miami Beach from 1990 to 1996. He has served as an orthopedic consultant for the Miami Dolphins football team. Dr. Levitt received his medical degree from Jefferson Medical School and completed his residency at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia. He was appointed associate professor at the University of Miami School of Medicine in the department of orthopedic surgery. Dr. Levitt, a member of several professional societies, has written extensively about orthopedic surgery and related topics in medical journals. As a featured speaker and a visiting professor, he has made presentations at national and international conferences and seminars.
