Richard D. Komistek, Ph.D. is the Fred M. Roddy Distinguished Professor of Biomedical Engineering at the University of Tennessee and serves as the co-Director of the Center for Musculoskeletal Research. Dr. Komistek’s research interests pertain to the biomechanics of human motion. The main focus of his biomechanics research is the determination of in vivo motions of implanted and non implanted joints, using fluoroscopy, and the prediction of joint and muscle forces using mathematical modeling techniques. He has authored over 120 journal publications, over 15 book chapters and over 700 presentations and guest lectureships throughout the world. He is a nationally renowned expert in the field of knee kinematics.
