Charles S. Kleinman, M.D. is the Director of Pediatric Cardiac Imaging and is a Professor of Clinical Pediatrics in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. Dr. Kleinman received his medical degree from New York Medical College and trained in pediatrics and pediatric cardiology at the New York Hospital and the University of California-San Francisco’s Cardiovascular Research Institute. Prior to joining the faculty, Dr. Kleinman was on the faculty of Yale University School of Medicine for 22 years, serving as Professor and Chief of Pediatric Cardiology for 1986-1999., From 2000-2002, he was Director of Clinical Cardiology at the Nemours Cardiac Center in Orlando, Florida. Dr. Kleinman is widely published in the field of echocardiography, and was instrumental in the development to the filed of fetal echocardiography and fetal cardiology. He has more than 150 publications in such journal as the New England Journal of Medicine, Circulation and the American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology. He ahs served on the sub-board of Pediatric Cardiology of the American Board of Pediatrics an has received career achievement awards from organization such as the American Society of Echocardiography and he American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine.
