Dr. Klassen has been a Staff Physician with Duluth Clinic Department of Orthopedics since 1998. After receiving his medical degree from the University of Minnesota Duluth School of Medicine, Dr. Klassen spent seven years in postgraduate training at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, completing both an Orthopedic Surgery Residency and a Shoulder and Elbow Fellowship with Mayo Clinic's Department of Orthopedic Surgery.
During his postgraduate period, Dr. Klassen also completed a Master of Science Program in Biomedical Science with the Mayo Clinic Graduate School of Medicine and received a number of research grants and awards. He now maintains ongoing research in joint arthroplasty and a number of other areas. Dr. Klassen is board certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery.
