Timothy D. Kane, MD is an assistant professor of surgery at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, and an attending pediatric surgeon at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC where he is the director of minimally invasive surgery and the clinical director of the Department of Pediatric General and Thoracic Surgery. Dr. Kane earned his MD degree from SUNY Health Science Center at Syracuse, New York and completed his general surgery training at the University of Cincinnati Hospital and Medical Center, in Cincinnati, Ohio. He took his pediatric surgery training at the University of Alabama, Birmingham and Children’s Hospital of Alabama, in Birmingham, Alabama. Dr. Kane’s particular interests include: advanced pediatric minimally invasive surgical techniques and training; gastroesophageal reflux and foregut procedures; childhood tumors; benign and malignant thoracic diseases and pectus deformities; congenital neonatal disorders; and surgical education.
