Dr. Hofmann is Chief of Orthopaedics at the Salt Lake City Veterans Affairs Medical Center and has his practice at the University of Utah Orthopaedic Center. He completed medical training at Southwestern Medical School and residency at Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas, Texas. His area of primary interest lies in joint replacement surgery of the hip and knee and research relating to bone ingrowth, biomechanics and biomaterials. Dr. Hofmann serves as a design surgeon, helping to develop new implants for hip and knee reconstruction. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and his memberships include the American Orthopaedic Association, the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the Orthopaedic Research Society, Society for Arthritic Joint Surgery, Society for Biomaterials, and the Knee Society.
