Stanley Hoehn, MD, FACS, received his undergraduate degree in Biology from Union College in Lincoln, Neb., and graduated from Loma Linda University Medical Center in Loma Linda, Calif. He completed his surgical residency and internship at the University of Kansas in 1999.
Board-certified in General Surgery and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, Hoehn is also a member of the American Society of Bariatric Surgery. He serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor with the University of Kansas Department of Surgery and assists surgical residents in their training.
Hoehn is a founding member of the Bariatric Center of Kansas City. He combines skills that he uses daily in his bariatric and general surgery practice to perform weight loss surgery at Shawnee Mission Medical Center (SMMC) in Shawnee Mission, Kan. Hoehn currently serves as Medical Director of the Weight Loss Surgery Program at SMMC.
He received specialized training in the fall of 2002 in San Diego, Calif., from Drs. Wittgrove and Clark, founders of the laparoscopic technique for Roux-en-Y gastric bypass surgery. He also trained with the InaMed Corporation, developer of the LapBand® system, in the spring of 2004.
Hoehn has performed more than 1,000 laparoscopic Roux-en-Y gastric bypass procedures, more than 1,000 laparoscopic adjustable gastric banding procedures and more than 70 laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy procedures. He has had an advanced laparoscopic surgery practice for the past 10 years in the Kansas City metropolitan area. Hoehn’s goal is to provide surgical excellence within a compassionate atmosphere along with lifelong quality patient support.
