Dr. Fitz is an associate orthopedic surgeon at Brigham and Women's,
Faulkner, and the New England Baptist Hospitals in Boston, MA and an
Instructor at Harvard Medical School. He is licensed to practice in both
the US and Germany. Dr. Fitz has been involved in a variety of
innovations during his career. While in Germany he designed a seat that
is widely used by BMW. Since his arrival at the Brigham he has worked on
patented innovations including the use of nanotechnology to improve the
performance of bone cement, minimally invasive implant designs, and
instrumentation and surgical techniques for image-guided and
computer-assisted joint replacement technology. Dr. Fitz won the
National Orthopaedic Fellowship Foundation Award in 1999 and was
selected to be a John Insall Traveling Fellow in 2002 by the American
Knee Society.
