Dr. Fisher, an Indiana native, received his undergraduate degree from DePauw University in Greencastle, Indiana in 1977. He attended Indiana University-Purdue University at Indianapolis for his post-graduate studies and received his medical degree from Indiana University in 1982.
Dr. Fisher interned at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis before completing his residency in the department of orthopaedic surgery at Indiana University in 1987. He then went to St. Anthony Hospital in Columbus, Ohio to perform a one-year fellowship in joint implant surgery.
Dr. Fisher is affiliated with four Indianapolis-area hospitals: Indiana Orthopaedic Hospital, Methodist, Community and St. Vincent. He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, a board member of the Orthopaedic Research Foundation, as well as a past president of the Indiana Orthopaedic Research Foundation. Dr. Fisher is the current director of the Total Joint Center of Excellence at the Indiana Orthopaedic Hospital. Dr. Fisher has had numerous articles published in professional journals, presented to both national and international medical associations, and participated in many research projects and FDA trials.
