Dr. Elkas graduated from Dartmouth College and received his medical degree from New York Medical College. He completed his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland. Immediately following, he completed a fellowship in Gynecologic Oncology at University of California, Los Angeles.
After completion of his fellowship, he became Director of Gynecologic Services at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland and Associate Program Director for the Uniformed Services Fellowship in Gynecologic Oncology at Walter Reed Army Medical Center. He joined Northern Virginia Pelvic Surgery in private practice in July 2006 and became a full partner in the practice in July 2008.
Dr. Elkas also has received his Juris Doctorate with an emphasis in Health Law from the Columbus School of Law at the Catholic University of America. Dr. Elkas is a member of multiple professional societies and has presented both basic science and clinical research at national scientific meetings as well as having published over 30 articles in multiple peer reviewed journals. Currently he is a board certified attending physician at Inova Fairfax and Suburban hospitals.
