Dr. Michael Albrink attended Marshall University in Huntington, West Virginia, graduating with a BS in Chemistry. He obtained his MD from The Ohio State University, then completed his surgical residency and a fellowship in Trauma and Critical Care at the University of Pittsburgh. Dr. Albrink joined the University of South Florida Division of General Surgery in 1989 as an Assistant Professor of Surgery and is presently an Associate Professor of Surgery at USF. He is Board Certified in Surgery and Critical Care.

Dr. Albrink has been the Director of the Emergency Department at Weirton Medical Center, the Director of Pediatric Trauma at Tampa General Hospital, Medical Director, Department of Surgery at Harbourside Medical Towers, and Chairman, Department of Surgery at Tampa General Hospital. Recognized by students, staff and patients as an excellent surgeon and teacher, he is the proud recipient of Distinguished Teaching Awards at the USF Department of Surgery. A fellow of the American College of Surgeons, he is also on the board of the Florida Surgical Society and a member of a variety of other medical and surgical organizations. Dr. Albrink is actively engaged in teaching and administration at USF and Tampa General Hospital, and is involved in clinical research endeavors. Dr. Albrink's particular practice interests include critical care, advanced laparoscopic surgery, GI surgery and anti-reflux surgery.
