Before using any medical device, including those demonstrated or referenced in this presentation, review all relevant package inserts, with particular attention to the indications, contraindications, warnings and precautions, and steps for use of the device.
The interesting and highly complex world of revisional bariatric surgery will be discussed during a live webcast Wednesday, January 20 at 4:30pm PST. Participating faculty will include Kelvin D. Higa, MD, FACS, from Fresno Heart and Surgical Hospital, Alan Wittgrove, MD, FACS, from Scripps Memorial Hospital in La Jolla, California, and Raul Rosenthal, MD, FACS, from the Cleveland Clinic Florida.
Bariatric/metabolic surgical interventions are not without risk. Inadequate weight loss, weight recidivism or complications often necessitate secondary procedures. Revisions and/or re-interventions must address the complexity of the disease, patient compliance, as well as the effect of the original operation.
This presentation will include demonstrations of the safe and effective use of EnSeal®, Harmonic® ACE, and Echelon Flex™ technologies; it is not intended to be used as a surgical training guide. Additional training beyond the webcast is needed. Other surgeons may employ different techniques. Individual surgeon preference and experience, as well as patient needs, should always dictate variation in procedure steps. Before using any medical device, including those demonstrated or referenced in this presentation, review all packet inserts, with particular attention to the indications, contraindications, warnings and precautions and steps of use of the device. Before performing any new procedure, including those demonstrated or referenced in this presentation, ensure that adequate training has been obtained.
